That tint has other properties, too: Psychologists and greedy corporations have long known that the color red inspires action and is even said to elicit hunger (hence the McDonald's scheme). Understanding this, Amy Meyers, who owns Sippora Gallery, has created "Red," an ode to the all-powerful hue. Artists including Holly Denslow, Wolfgang Pfirrmann and Jacqueline Riley have created works that aim to stimulate and seduce you -- all utilizing the lascivious color.
